Thinking Buildings is delighted to have been commissioned to help develop a new eco-house for our client on the banks of the River Thames in Surrey.
The new house is on the banks of the Thames and within a flood risk area (Flood Zone 3b – functional floodplain). In order to be considered for planning approval, the site will need a full Flood Risk Assessment and it is likely the house will need to be constructed on stilts or sleeper walls to maintain a floodable void under the house. This is to ensure that the development won’t remove any floodable area.
Do you have a difficult site in a flood risk area? Maybe we can help.
