Bungalows Don’t Need To Be A Design Compromise

20160816_ArdleighWe don’t think Bungalows need to be boring or a design compromise. On some sites they work really well and sometimes they are the only option, as there may be planning restrictions.

Thinking Buildings have recently submitted an application for planning approval for the modern bungalow shown below. The house is proposed in an area with a large number of bungalows. There wasn’t an option for a two-storey house so we worked closely with the client to develop a spacious, but modern bungalow. The house works well, with one wing being dedicated to bedrooms, the opposite wing being for the living accommodation and a central circulation space given over to the entrance hall, kitchen and dining area. This creates a great family-friendly environment and also means whilst the kids are sleeping, the adults can have some quiet time at the opposite side of the house.
