Just this week we’ve received the go-ahead from a client to start work on a scheme for the replacement of an existing stables and barns with two new dwellings.
We’ve previously been granted planning permission for the conversion of the derelict structures, but with changing planning policy the local council is now looking more favourably at providing housing on small infill plots within existing settlements. Previously these sites were not seen as sustainable due to poor services and transport links, but planning policy is changing and emerging new policies and reports are now suggesting these types of sites could provide extra housing to meet the growing demand.
We’re going to working with the client to help maximise the site potential, whilst still respecting the village context.
