Thinking Buildings are pleased to obtain planning permission for a barn conversion in the Cotswolds.
From discussions with the planning department we were encouraged to make use of the barn’s existing openings. This kind of open collaboration can often be to the benefit of projects, and this is an excellent example of that in action. We think the project is the stronger for this approach, keeping the character and charm of the original intact, and giving an authenticity to the new use that might otherwise be lost.
The client now just needs to decide whether to build it out themselves, or put the site on the open market! Either way, we love converting these older, unloved buildings to become vibrant spaces again, so we hope we’ll have the chance to keep you updated on the construction phase later next year.
