Thinking Buildings are delighted to have submitted Fairford Primary school expansion project for planning consent. This completes 6 months of hard work to develop designs to expand and double the size of the existing school from a 1 form entry to a 2 form entry provision. The design solution includes a new linked Key stage 1 teaching block with 6 classbases, a new integrated nursery and new school hall. A new link extension, incorporating a new entrance and administrative area joins the new block to the existing school building. Internally, the existing building is remodeled and adapted as part of the works. The scheme also includes comprehensive landscaping proposals and a new staff car park to support the expansion. It is anticipated that the scheme will be constructed in 2 phases with the first phase starting later this year.
It has been a great team effort to date working with the school, Gloucestershire County Council, Beard contractors and the other design team members. Updates to follow but fingers crossed for planning!
