Traditionally the challenge of refurbishing older properties was installing glazing which performed better thermally than the usual single pane of glass. Double glazed units, with a gas or air cavity, are normally around 24mm thick. This makes installing them into existing frames very difficult and visually it’s quite obvious.
How about vacuum glazing? Vacuum glazing provides similar energy efficiency performance as a standard unit, but in a much thinner profile, so it can be used in slim frames – perfect to maintain an older property’s original appearance.
