The Summer Golf Season Has Arrived…..

Whilst Thinking Buildings like to work hard we also enjoy finding some time for a few rounds of golf during the summer months. Darren had a great round with Haydn Beer at Heythrop Park and the photo shows Haydn’s approach shot to the stunning main house on the 18th (with the 19th hole in tasting distance). For all you golfers out there, Thinking Buildings have a corporate membership at Studley Wood. This is a fantastic and challenging course. Please do feel free to message Darren if you would like to join us for a round over the next few months………happy golfing in the meantime!

A Fixer-Upper!

That moment when you really need to trust your architectural vision.

These photographs are of a barn in Gloucestershire that we busy completing the technical design for construction.  The vegetation has been stripped away to reveal the building in all its glory. Thinking buildings gained consent for this 4 bedroom barn conversion last year and the site (and building) was sold for development. Of course it looks worse than it is, the photo’s don’t show the attractive brick facade to the roadside, and the rather inventive use of cladding (using anything that was at hand by the looks of it) will be stripped back  to the timber frame and trusses to allow for re-cladding and the introduction of a new traditional slate roof. More to follow as we track progress on this transition from ugly ducking to a homely barn and home…….
