Thinking Buildings were appointed to extend and refurbish this beautiful existing Grade II Listed farmhouse near Stow-on-the-Wold. The house is part of the original farmstead for a large country estate, the house benefits from an open parkland setting.

The house had been vacant for a number of decades when we started work on the project, and thus was sorely in need of care and refurbishment to modern standards. The layout of the house was two main reception rooms with a central hall, with three bedrooms above. A later side extension provided in a new staircase with kitchen on the ground floor and bathroom above

Our proposal was to extend the existing side extension to a full two storeys, duplicating the raised gable stonework detailing, to provide a new third bedroom with ensuite. This allowed the smallest bedroom to be split into two ensuites for the two larger existing bedrooms. On the ground floor the kitchen was moved into the middle of the house, and the former kitchen becomes a cosy dining room with wood burning stove.
