This development of twenty residential properties of one to five bedrooms, is located on the edge of Norton Conservation Area. Situated within the Vale of Evesham, an area renowned for its farming, the concept is a farm that has naturally evolved from a simple ‘threshing’ barn to a larger farm-house and farm-yard as agricultural operations changed. The end result being a development that looks well established within the existing settlement.
Thinking Buildings were brought on board when plots fifteen to twenty were nearing completion, to support the developer in the technical design and delivery of plots one through to fourteen. All properties are to be of a traditional construction to modern standards of energy efficiency, but take cues from four different architectural styles.
Plot one is a traditional Georgian farm-house sitting as the gateway to the development, plots two to six are designed as red-brick barns enclosing two courtyards, plot seven and eight takes cues from an old timber farmyard out building, and plots nine through to fourteen sit in a dutch-barn style building with a large barrel roof.
