Whilst it’s only early stages and preliminary thoughts, it’s great to share this exciting sketch of a partly earth sheltered Paragraph 84 house design that we have been involved with recently. Thinking Buildings has worked on a few of these aspirational projects over the years, working within the Paragraph 84 clause of the UK’s National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), that sets out various circumstances which can enable the erection of new isolated dwellings in the open countryside. The key driver behind these policies is to deliver highly sustainable houses of exceptional quality and this sets a very high bar for both client and architects, demanding a design approach of the highest quality.
