Thinking Buildings has designed an exciting and modern showroom in Leicestershire for a luxury car sales company. Our client, Hillmoren, specialises in the sale of high-value luxury cars and has developed a niche for sales of electric vehicles. Prospective customers to the site are high-net-worth individuals, and visits are by appointment only, so the quality of the buildings contributes to an overall experience that is central to the sales success.
The new buildings have been designed as what we call a “rural modern” aesthetic, combining simple barn-type forms with modern high-quality materials, to provide a simple yet highly effective design. The proposed buildings are predominantly in standing seam metal cladding, referencing agricultural barns, with larger areas of structural glazing to provide a modern outlook and form, and elements of timber cladding for softness.
The proposals also focus on sustainability, with the 2 buildings having large areas of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, with the PV being used to charge the electric vehicles whilst on site. On-site rainwater harvesting will also be used to gather water for use in car cleaning prior to sale.
