Primary School Redevelopment Achieves Planning Consent

We are pleased to report another successful planning outcome for a local Oxfordshire primary school. Working with Oxford Diocesan Schools Trust and Oxfordshire County Council, Thinking Buildings and our consultant partners have provided a considered scheme to help North Hinksey Primary continue to provide the best care and facilities to their pupils. The scheme includes refurbishment of some of the existing buildings, an extension to provide two new classrooms, and a new Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA).

Although a modest site, there have been complexities in developing the scheme. Secondary badger setts on the site and a high ecological baseline value, along with potential archaeological interest, presented challenges in developing a sensitive and ecologically beneficial scheme. Thanks to the expertise of our consultant partners RSK Biocensus, Sylva Consultancy, and Oxford Archaeology, we were pleased with the local authority’s willingness to engage and develop the scheme with us, to achieve a great outcome for the school.

Works to implement the first stages, refurbishment to the existing buildings and construction of the new all weather sports MUGA, are already underway and will start on site this summer, so that the school will see immediate benefits from the beginning of the next academic year.

Our New Look!

Welcome to our new brand identity!

After several months of working with the branding experts Think Plus Ink Ltd, we are delighted to be able to share our new look!

“We wanted to create a new image that is more aligned to the company we have grown and evolved into over time ” said James, one of our Directors. “We have come a long way from our humble beginnings and we wanted to better reflect who we are today.”

The rebrand includes a new logo, with a redesigned website launching later in the year. The new visual identity seeks to reflect the modern, high quality design and lifestyle choices that Thinking Buildings create. Things might look a little different while we put the final finishes in place, but rest assured our level of service, care and attention will be just the same as usual.

Mixed Use Development Gains Planning Consent

We’re really glad to be able to share that our mixed used development project in Wootton was granted planning permission recently. This is an exciting scheme to redevelop an existing business site to provide a residential apartment block and new office for the existing owner occupier. The increased density on the site maximises the potential, while making space for increased soft landscaping, improving the overall impression and ecological value of the site.

We are working with the client to decide how best to take the scheme forward and are excited to be able to share the development as it progresses. You can see much more of the proposals for this scheme on our case study page below.
